Account deletion
You can request deletion of your Skrivist Cloud account and all associated data at any time. To do so, send an email to contact@skriv.ist with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Send it from the email address of the account you sign in with (today that is your vigil.center account), and include the account name shown in the app under Settings ("Signed in as …"), so we can verify the account belongs to you.
We will delete the following data within 30 days:
- Your account profile and authentication record
- All books uploaded to your cloud library
- Reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, and settings
- API keys and subscription entitlements managed by us
Some information may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention, accounting, or enforcing our Terms. Local data stored on your device can be removed by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
Skrivist Comics and Skrivist Books have no accounts, so there is nothing for us to delete. Everything they keep is in your browser; clear the site's data for comics.skriv.ist or books.skriv.ist to remove it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install Skrivist as an app?
All three readers work as Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). Open comics.skriv.ist, books.skriv.ist, or app.skriv.ist in a supported browser and use the browser's "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" option.
Does Skrivist work offline?
Yes. Comics and Books keep everything on your device and work offline once installed. In Skrivist Cloud, books you have opened are cached locally and can be read without an internet connection; your reading progress syncs when you reconnect.
What file formats are supported?
Skrivist Comics reads CBZ, CBR, and PDF. Skrivist Books reads EPUB and PDF. Skrivist Cloud reads EPUB. Comics and Books can also browse OPDS catalogues, for free. The Calibre plugin sends books from Calibre to a Skrivist Cloud library.
How do I manage or cancel my Skrivist Cloud subscription?
Open Settings in app.skriv.ist and choose "Manage account". It opens the customer portal of Polar, our payment partner, where you can see billing details, update your payment method, or cancel your subscription.
Is my reading data private?
Yes. We do not sell your data or use it to train models. Comics and Books never send us your files. In Skrivist Cloud, your uploaded books and reading progress are stored only to provide sync and offline access. See our Privacy Policy for details.
